Was it carelessness not to close the window, or maybe a sudden change
in the weather that delayed someone’s return home?
This piece of material flapping out of the window has something
touching about it. It makes the apartment seem defenceless. It describes
its vulnerability even more than the open window itself. It could
rain into the flat, it could attract the attention of pigeons -
has it been abandoned?
Thoughts
On closer inspection, another curtain can be seen, - then three
of them, all flapping similarly; we become attentive and realise
they are not moving, their movement is frozen.
A questioning, annoyed glance - what is going on here?
Broadly visible curtains at eleven windows, spread over three houses.
Captured,
frozen in their movement, maybe for as long as one thousand fantasy
years.
A 3-D photograph, a snapshot, a picture puzzle, or is it deception,
a false perception?
When will the curtains be brought in, when will the fixation be
released?
